FOR OUR PLANET
L’Oréal for the Future, our sustainability commitments for 2030
Fighting Climate Change | For more than 20 years, we have worked to reduce the CO2 emissions linked to our industrial activity. To achieve this, we improved energy efficiency across all our facilities (buildings, equipment, etc.), increased the use of local renewable energy wherever possible and achieved the targets defined for the sites without carbon offsetting projects. |

Managing Water Sustainably | At L’Oréal, water, as an essential component in creating and using our products, is central to our business. Our ability to operate effectively and meet all the needs of our consumers depends on sustainable water access, management and conservation. |
Respecting Biodiversity | Preserving the beauty of the planet also means preserving its biodiversity. Natural ecosystems have been damaged, with major consequences for lands and communities across the world, including in terms of their resilience to climate change. We are committed to protecting and preserving biodiversity, a unique bounty.. |
Preserving Natural Resources | At L’Oréal, we manage our consumption of natural resources to ensure that our activities are compatible with a resource-constrained planet. We promote the use of renewable raw materials that are sustainably sourced or derived from green chemistry. We are also working on solutions that allow for more recycling and promote the development of the circular economy. |
FOR OUR PEOPLE
People are our greatest strength–and we know it.
Respecting Human Rights | Human rights might seem like an abstract subject, but the reality is that they are relevant to everyone and impact us all daily. There are 30 Human Rights internationally defined by the United Nations, including the right to life and safety, to health, to privacy, to freedom of expression, the right to have a decent job, and more. |

Caring For Our Employees | At L'Oréal, sustainable growth and the social model are inseparable. Since 2012, we've rolled out a set of priorities for health, social protection, work-life balance and workplace well being across the globe. This policy enables all our teams to enjoy the same protections and the best social practices around the world. |
Empowering Communities | At L’Oréal, we believe it is our responsibility to share our growth – and its benefits. Our Group is committed to making tangible improvements in communities wherever we are present. |
Promoting Diversity, Equity & Inclusion | Our objective is to be the most inclusive beauty leader and contribute to a society in which everyone can live safely, peacefully and equally. or over a century L’Oréal has been dedicated to one sole vocation: creating beauty. |

Our Product Environmental and Social Labelling | An important part of achieving sustainability is accurately assessing the impact of products and acting to reduce that impact. We think our responsibility is to share this information with consumers so they can make informed, sustainable choices. People are willing to do their part for the environment, but to achieve this, transparency is key. That is why we developed a Product Impact Labelling system to inform consumers on the environmental and social impact of our products. |
